USA International Raceway Rules


General Rules:
All persons on USA International Raceway premises (USAIR) or attending any USAIR events will follow all rules, regulations, and safety requirements set forth by USAIR and the World Karting Association (WKA). Rules pertaining to safety and kart and engine specification will prevail unless otherwise specified herein. WKA rule books are available at USAIR or by joining the WKA.

USAIR Requirements:
For membership to be valid and to receive member benefits, all proper memberships, waivers of  liability, proof of age (18 years old and under require birth certificates), and Emergency Medical Treatment (EMT) forms must be accurately completed and on file with USAIR for all family members and participants, and all fees must be paid.

All USAIR participants up to the age of 18 must have their parent's or guardian's written permission to race, a copy of their birth certificate, a minor release form, and an EMT form on file with USAIR. A proof of age is required prior to the use of the facility.

During the operation of a kart at USAIR, anybody under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is over the age of 18. This person must also purchase a pit pass in order for the minor to be on the track.

With the exception of the kid kart drivers, no individuals less than eight (8) years of age may operate a kart on USAIR property.

A junior driver who becomes a year older during the calendar year, making the eligible for another class, may exercise the option of remaining in the lower age class for the remainder of that year. If a junior driver changes to a senior class, he/she may not continue to compete in both classes or return to the junior class after competing in the senior class events.

At no time will anyone under the age of 16 be allowed to operate any motor vehicle on USAIR property (including mini-bikes, 4-wheelers, go-peds, golf carts, etc.). Anyone over the age of 16 must be licensed to operate motor vehicles, and all vehicles must be registered or licensed.

Use of Pit Vehicle:
Any pit vehicle (mini-bikes, 4-whellers, go-peds, and golf carts) must be used for the sole purpose of getting from point A to point B and must maintain a speed limit of 5 MPH. Any horseplay with such vehicles may cause the officials of USAIR to impound that vehicle for the rest of the day or for the rest of the weekend.


Violation of the rules:
Any competitor determined to violate the rules as set forth with the intent to compete illegally or with the intent to defraud officials, employees, or other competitors by such modification, unsportsmanlike driving or conduct, or flagrant violation of a rule to gain an unfair advantage may be subjected to appropriate disciplinary action as determined by the Race Director and/or Race Committee.

The USAIR Race Committee may, at its own discretion, or on the recommendation of any of its officers, initiate disciplinary action against participants.

Any person or persons who represent the driver at any USAIR event must refrain from any inappropriate conduct. Any such conduct will reflect directly upon the driver as far as disqualification from daily events. Any inappropriate conduct may be reviewed by the Race Committee for further disciplinary action.


Pets:
Pets are allowed on USAIR property but must be leashed at all times and the owners are responsible to clean up after them. USAIR is not responsible for any aggressive behavior causing bodily harm displayed by the animal while on the grounds of USAIR. Responsibility will be solely on the owner.


Alcohol:
Alcoholic beverages are allowed on USAIR property only after all scheduled races have been completed for the day. Any person caught drinking alcoholic beverages prior to the last race being completed will be asked to leave the property and may be reviewed for further disciplinary action.


Rules added or changed:
Rules may be added or changed at any time by the Rules Committee, Race Director, or staff of USAIR for the sole purpose of bettering the safety of racers, faculty, and spectators. All added rules or changes will be posted at Registration and be printed in next year's rule book.


Gasoline:
We will tech gasoline at USAIR using Mobil Premium Unleaded, purchased on race day from the Mobil State on State Hwy. 22, 1206 E. Green Bay St. in Shawano, Wisconsin. When teching a sample, the test range will be plus or minus 10 on the Digitron Fuel Meter.


Methanol Alcohol:
Competitors using methanol must go through the  "pump around," arriving with the same amount of fuel (or more) as they plan to refill with for competition.


Additional Fuel Test:
It shall be the tech official's decision as to which system is used and/or may  do additional fuel checks. Additional checks may include fuel sampling, hydrometer, water test, chemical, or electronic evaluating of fuel.


Gas and Oil:
The gas and oil mixture will be three to four ounces of Burris Blend and 3-4 oz. Of Burris Castor per gallon of Mobil Premium purchased on the day of the race. The test range is plus or minus 10 on the Digitron Fuel Meter to tech the sample. All 2-cycle competitors (except shifters and TaGs) will purchase fuel from the Spec Station and mix the fuel to the above specifications.

Fuel Test Protest:
Any competitor may protest another competitor's fuel in his or her own class. The protested fuel will be checked immediately. A secondary test may be determined later.

A $150.00 fee must accompany all fuel protests and is nonrefundable at any time.


Rookie Specifications:
All rookie drivers must display black numbers on yellow background panels on all four sides and must have a yellow X on the back of their helmet. They must also start at the back of the field and continue to be placed there until released by the Race Director.

All members are highly encouraged to familiarize themselves with WKA rules. WKA rulebooks may be purchased at registration.

CLASS JUMPING:
Racer is eligible to compete for points in any class that they meet the age and weight requirements.

Racer is eligible to step up to an advanced class for the last four scheduled points races. The entrant must have reached age prior to jumping to the advanced class.

The entrant will be required to start in the rear and will not receive any class points for the class jumped.

All entrants must report to race director when class jumping, failure to do so will result in disqualification and ask to leave the premises for remainder of that race day.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR YEAR-END AWARDS:
This organization is a club. your participation is vital to the success of the club, therefore it will be required that every member (or family member) work two events. Participation in a national event at USA International raceway will count as one of the required events worked.

The #1 will be given out at the year-end awards banquet to all class champions.

Champions of each class may choose to run the #1 panel for the 2006 season, any champions that are advancing to another class may not run the #1 in that class, the #1 must remain in the class it was intended.    

It is required that every participant that wants to compete for year-end awards must race

the minimum of ten races to qualify for year-end awards. Exempted from this rule is fast time awards - to be eligible for fast time you must run under USAIR class qualifications during the feature race.

All competitors of USAIR must run a transponder on race day - (except kid karts) no exceptions.

All competitors must use MG tires to qualify for year-end awards.

RAIN OUTS:
For the competition year USAIR will sell rain points. You must go through registration and pay as normal, the race director shall call complete rain-out at 12:00pm of the race day. There will be no refunds for race day or practice. You will receive 200 points for rain out ( after registering) for year-end points.


TIRE TREATING:
At no time will any competitor be allowed to treat tires on USAIR property. Any tire treating must be done prior to entering grounds. This rule will be enforced by disqualification for the day and asked to leave the grounds for the day.


TIRE CLEANING:
Tire cleaning will be allowed at USAIR with a common house hold cleaner.


DQ'S:
Disqualification  known as DQ will not count as a throw away. 


CHEST PROTECTORS:
All drivers 12 and under are required by WKA and USAIR to wear a chest protector meeting SFI Specification 20.1. (USAIR recommends that all competitors wear a chest protector.)
